Over the course of the past six years I have spent a great deal of it serving our nation in the Middle East (in Kuwait and Afghanistan).
I am a dad, a brother, a son, a Sailor, a former high school U.S. History teacher (go BHS!), a mentor and a friend.
I enjoy entirely too many hobbies with way too little time to act upon them all.
Since returning home in March 2009, I have been in search of gainful employment. Believe me, I have found that nearly impossible here in my hometown. I currently work part-time at our local Barnes & Noble Booksellers. I love the job, I just wish it were one where a person could make a decent living. That said, the people there are awesome! Come see me sometime!
Life here in South Bend, IN, has its pluses and its minuses.
I have recently realized that friends and family are to be cherished above all else--yeah, yeah I always knew that, but having been in the Middle East for so long I have seen how lucky, how spoiled and how privileged we are as Americans. I have also learned we are an opinionated lot with many people who are unable or unwilling to see beyond their own sensibilities.
